From Here…To There: A Self-Paced Program for Transition in Employment
by Lawrence A. Stuenkel

The Definitive Job Search Guide

From Here…To There is the definitive guide for individuals seeking employment. The author has 27 years of experience as an outplacement consultant providing strategic counseling to job seekers, and as President of a national outplacement firm. He candidly shares with readers those strategies that work in today’s job market, as well as those that do not.

This book is targeted for any individual looking for employment, whether they are unemployed or employed. The author of this book is the founding president of an outplacement-consulting firm with 27 years of experience in helping individuals with employment transition, whether the person has been downsized, laid off, terminated, fired, or is considering early retirement and a second career.

No other book exists for the market that has the breadth, scope, and experience that went into the research of this material. It is a plethora of firsthand experience and fact - not hand-me-down myths, old wives tales or "in-the-box thinking."

A compelling feature is that each book contains an interactive CD-ROM, which includes "the Perfect Resume Builder." This CD-ROM provides an easy to follow series of prompts to construct a strong, viable resume without wasting time or effort. Margins, spacing, lay-out, and font style are already set up for you.

In addition to resume development, this CD-ROM includes "The Resume Editor" for the individual who wishes to make editorial changes. Along with "The Resume Editor," job search plans as well as other material can be downloaded including a valuable interviewing replay worksheet and a job offer evaluation checklist. These and other materials can be easily downloaded using the CD.

From Here…To There takes on the entire job hunting process from filing unemployment to negotiating the offer of employment including your next separation agreement. It includes hundreds of examples of resumes, letters, interview questions and answers, and the largest collection of websites for job postings.

The author also uses "Out of the Box Thinking" concepts that on the face seem extremely unusual. However, whenever this type of thinking is applied to the job market it is very competitive, highly effective, and makes for a successful and profitable job campaign. Job-Hunting, like a resume, is a product of the economic times it produces. This book is the most current and exhaustive work on the topic of job transition.

From Here…To There is not a resume or a prayer, it is the job hunter's bible with over 400 pages of exposed myths, strategies, facts, and "out of the box" thinking.
